The Glass Princess

Once upon a time, there lived a glass princess, in Evergreen town.

Her father, the King Just, was a very wise man, who loved his only daughter like anything.

Her mother, the Queen Wise, was the most beautiful and the most talented woman that ever graced Evergreen town.

The princess grew up to be very beautiful. Every man and woman, living in that town, loved her and her kind nature.

But the king grew very worried because soon she would be of marriageable age. He knew there was no one worthy of his daughter's love. He was afraid someone would break her.

The Queen Wise assured him that no such thing would happen. But her worries were no less.

And then came a day, when the glass princess demanded to see the forest beyond Evergreen town.

The King and Queen failed to make her aware that the forest beyond them, is something she should beware.

The princess was adamant to visit the forest beyond. And find out the bird that sings all day long.

So the King and Queen let her go. On condition that she would be followed.
By a monstrous beast so wild, the princess started to cry.

"It's for your own self, my dear, " Said the King.

And so it was decided. The following day the glass princess would leave, along with the beast.

Bitter Distraction

Someone once asked me why I like my coffee so bitter. I didn't know how to answer that. How do you even answer a question like that? It's like a distraction, you see. Like when you have a killing headache and you bang your head on the desk, really hard, out of frustration. And then you feel the pain and it hurts but it's a good kind of hurt because for a moment you forget about your headache. A distraction. A temporary satisfaction. It's the same thing with coffee. When you have lost all sorts of interest in everything and you stop tasting food, and only eat because you need it to be alive. And then you drink this bitter liquid and it doesn't taste that good but it's a distraction from the tastelessness. And so it tastes nice. Isn't it the same in life? An intro. The most important part of anything. Be it a song. A book. Anything and everything requires an intro. For days I tried, in vain, to write an intro about myself. But I failed repeatedly. It was after a long time that I finally realised my mistake. I was describing myself superficially. The same way I would introduce myself to a stranger. But my audience certainly deserve to know more about me. They're no stranger. They're family. So I decided to be myself. After all being vulnerable is not being weak.
