Not a single soul saw the light that emanated from her.

The brutal blinding light that threatened to consume those around her.

She took great care to keep it all inside. To keep it all hidden.

But nothing stays hidden for long. That is written.

And he saw it.

Saw how desperate she was to hide her true self but he couldn't understand why.

Bitter Distraction

Someone once asked me why I like my coffee so bitter. I didn't know how to answer that. How do you even answer a question like that? It's like a distraction, you see. Like when you have a killing headache and you bang your head on the desk, really hard, out of frustration. And then you feel the pain and it hurts but it's a good kind of hurt because for a moment you forget about your headache. A distraction. A temporary satisfaction. It's the same thing with coffee. When you have lost all sorts of interest in everything and you stop tasting food, and only eat because you need it to be alive. And then you drink this bitter liquid and it doesn't taste that good but it's a distraction from the tastelessness. And so it tastes nice. Isn't it the same in life? An intro. The most important part of anything. Be it a song. A book. Anything and everything requires an intro. For days I tried, in vain, to write an intro about myself. But I failed repeatedly. It was after a long time that I finally realised my mistake. I was describing myself superficially. The same way I would introduce myself to a stranger. But my audience certainly deserve to know more about me. They're no stranger. They're family. So I decided to be myself. After all being vulnerable is not being weak.
